West Kelowna plans to boost legal rental housing by encouraging more secondary suites and carriage homes. The city will allocate up to $330,000 from a federal Housing Accelerator Fund and waive building permit fees. Homeowners with eligible projects can receive grants up to $7,500. Additionally, a proposed bylaw may waive Development Cost Charges, allocating up to $1.2 million for non-market housing.
