West Kelowna launched a grant program to help residents build secondary suites and expand housing supply.
The grant covers 25% of construction costs, capped at $7.5K per project for eligible applicants.
The city also waives building permit application fees, typically ranging from $150 to $500.
Officials aimed to add at least 47 new units by the end of 2027 through grants.
Applications were accepted until Late-Q4 2027 or until the $330K budget was fully used.
I’m seeing West Kelowna push to expand rental and housing options by helping residents add secondary suites, pairing direct financial support with fee waivers and a limited, first-come program window.
